AMC Addressing Standards
On the Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) there is no longer one generic address that covers the entire campus. Each building has a unique address that is now recognized by the United States Post Office (USPS) as a valid address. In fact, the USPS now considers the use of both a street address and a PO number dual addressing and discourages using both.
Any stationary or literature that you currently have that uses both the PO number and the street address do not need to be replaced and will only affect how that mail is routed to the AMC.
Please use the following format for addressing your mail and begin to notify those who will be sending mail to you of the new addressing standard:
- Individual’s Name
- Department Name
- Mail Stop - a correct mail stop is very important to ensure mail is routed correctly once it reaches the campus from the USPS. Carriers are not familiar with every name or department and rely solely on the campus box number to sort and deliver your mail.
- Building Name - the building name is optional, if used it should come after the mail stop – not before. If space is a problem, the building name can come after the mail stop on the same line.
- Street Address, Room Number - each building has their own unique address (see web site or pgs 39-47 of campus directory.) The room number comes after the street address and is critical for deliveries from Fed Ex and UPS.

How can I update my location when I move?
All campus service departments use the campus telephone database to locate room numbers for individuals when adequate contact information is missing. When you change locations, the Telecommunications Department must be notified immediately so current information will be available.
To update your listing in the database, and help in receiving your packages, please enter the required information on-line.
